Whitlock Cemetery
Rockbridge Township
Greene County, Illinois
This cemetery is located in the Northwest Corner of Section 6, Township 9, Range 10. This cemetery was originally read by Carl & Mabel Scheffer & Walter Reed on 5 April 1980. The cemetery had become very overgrown with brush, tall grass and weeds. Allen sent this note along with the photos included here: "Went by this cemetery Sunday, August the 8th (2004). As you can see it looks like they are in the middle of cleaning it up. There was a large pile of fresh cut brush that had not even turned brown yet. There are more markers back in the tall weeds and it looks like they have about half of it cleared. Don't have any idea who is doing it (the cleaning), but three cheers for them. According to the 1996 plat book, the cemetery is on property owned by Walter L. Wagenblast."
