Norma I. Crabtree, 83, of Jacksonville, formerly of Roodhouse died at 4:35 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Prairie Village Health Care Center in Jacksonville.

She was born Jan. 18, 1920, near Alsey, the daughter of David and Hatti (Day) Smock. She married Buell Crabtree in 1940, in Bowling Green, Mo., and he died March 20, 1968.

She is survived by three sons, Jim (wife Reta) Crabtree of Jacksonville, Richard (wife Patricia) Crabtree of Edwardsville, and Ron Crabtree of Quincy; three grandchildren, Amanda, Daniel and Ayre.

Preceding her in death were a sister, Eva Bowns; and two brothers, Everett Smock and Gale Smock.

Mrs. Crabtree was a homemaker and member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Roodhouse.

Visitation was 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse, followed by graveside services at Williams-Edwards Cemetery near Barrow with the Rev. Bruce Pilcher officiating.

Casketbearers were Jim Crabtree, Richard Crabtree, Ron Crabtree, Jim VanMeter, Danny Powell and Rick Hires.
