Mrs. Dorothy Jane Day, 81, of Jacksonville died Wednesday evening, Dec. 31, 2003, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born Nov. 7, 1922, in Winchester, the daughter of Earl and Hazel (Gibbs) Bosteder. She married Denzel Day, and he survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding her in death was a son, Earl Jerry Day.
Mrs. Day was a homemaker and a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.
Friends called from 12:30 p.m. Monday at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville, until funeral services at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Bruce Pilcher and the Rev. Gerald Day officiating. Organist Terri Benz accompanied Cathy Doyle who sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Amazing Grace."
Casketbearers were Eric Lakin, Terry Whewell, Willis Hamm, Mark Homer, Todd Whewell and Kerry Groom. Burial was at Williams-Edwards Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice Care of Central Illinois.
