VERDICT: State of Illinois, Greene County in the matter of the inquisition on the body of David Cade; we the jurors sworn to enquire of the death of David Cade on oath do find he came to his death by a pistol shot to the lower left ear fired by his own hand with suicide intent.
PERSONAL EFFECTS: one pistol and eleven dollars all left with his brother. Buried by friends.
