WITNESSES: Ethel Fisher of 1 1/2 mile east of Walkerville, cook at camp; Dr. F.H. Russell, physician of Eldred, Illinois
VERDICT: By accidental injury due to horse falling on him resulting in shock and peritonitis
PERSONAL EFFECTS: none taken
REMARKS: Was working at the lumber camp on Louis Reisch, Jr. farm 6 miles south of Eldred. Hitched up horse to drive home. Horse backed the rig off enbankment and fell on top of the occupants. The deceased and Ethel Fisher and her 3 year old child. About 14 foot depth. The party layed in the road about 30 min until W. C. Wood came along in car and got help. James died about two days later.
