BRIGHTON - Edward Henry Nurnberger, 85, died at 2:50 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006, at his home.

He was born July 14, 1920, in Jerseyville to Henry F. and Henrietta (Oehler) Nurnberger.

He married the former Rose A. Puskar on March 29, 1947, in Pocahontas, Ark. She died Feb. 14, 1983.

A World War II Army veteran, he was a supervisor at Olin Corp. He was a member of the Tri County Rod and Gun Club.

He is survived by a daughter, Karla Zimmerman of St. Louis; a son and his wife, Edward H. and Judy Nurnberger of Fieldon; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jenna Nurnberger.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John J. Nurnberger; a granddaughter, Angel Ann Nurnberger; and a brother, Otto Nurnberger.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Targhetta and Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's United Church of Christ in Brighton. The Rev. Mike Southcombe will officiate.

Burial will be at Asbury Cemetery near Brighton.

Memorials may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ.
