BACON CEMETERY
Macoupin County, Illinois
Bacon Cemetery is located in South Otter Township. According to published records, it was laid out in the 1840s and deeded to the county for a burial ground in 1909. It can be reached, with permission, by driving through a hay field and through a lane over a deep gully and creek. It is being mowed and is in fairly good condition with no weeds, briars or branches down in the cemetery. Most of the stones are standing. The cemetery is surrounded by woods, with the deep gully along one side and a creek along another side.
