GIRARD CEMETERY

Earl and I completed a new reading of this cemetery during January and March 2007. In addition, I compared my new listing to the old listing compiled by the Macoupin County Genealogical Society some years ago. I've added a few burials to the new listing which were included in their listing - they apparently picked these up either from cemetery records or obituaries since we didn't find stones for them.

This is a beautiful cemetery during the summer, as with most cemeteries it isn't very attractive during the winter months when the grass is brown and the trees have no leaves. I'll go back as soon as things are green and the trees have leaves to take overview pictures of the cemetery and to take more individual pictures of stones.
