Oak Grove Cemetery is located approximately 3 to 4 miles northeast of Modesto in Macoupin
County, Illinois. This cemetery is beautifully maintained and is used for
current burials. Originally there was a church located on the cemetery
grounds, although it is impossible to see today where it once stood. Documentation
on the cemetery indicates that it was originally laid out in 1842 by John Chapman. An addition
to the cemetery was made in 1905 by E. W. Walkington. If a name appears in red, click
