READER CEMETERY
Macoupin County, Illinois

Location: Driving south on Rte. 111 - when you reach the junction of Rte. 111 and Rte. 108, turn west on Rte. 108 towards Hagaman, IL. From Rte. 108, take the first road going south (left turn) - drive approximately 1 mile down this road. Just before the road makes a curve to the right (west), you will turn left (east) into a field road. Drive to the end of the field road and the cemetery is located on your right. When there are no crops in the field, or when beans are planted in the field between the road and the cemetery as they are this year, you can see the cemetery from the road. There are 2 or 3 large trees situated in the cemetery. The cemetery is kept mowed, but the stones are not in good condition - with many of them down and partially buried. Several of them, including the large stone for Nancy Hagaman, are down and in tall weeds and grass surrounding a tree. We visited and recorded this cemetery on June 21, 2006.
