Newspaper Article about Stewart-Crump

Stewart - Crump Family Burial is located in the northwest corner of section 20 in North Otter Township, Macoupin County, Illinois. It is abut 50 feet south of a main road and has only two apparent burials, Charles Edward Stewart and his wife Charity Crump. He was a Revolutionary Soldier and was supposed to be the nephew of the Queen of Scotland. When Mr. Coy Hunt purchased this farm, he put a board fence around the area, approximately 10 feet square. The small area became over grown in briars so several people cleared the brush and dirt from the stones that had fallen over. The following spring the stones were cleaned, glued and rest in cement.

Karl Sigley and Earl Deatherage visited this burial site on April 23, 2007 and took the photographs included with this listing. Click on the names below to bring up a photograph of that individual's cemetery stone.
