I completed a new reading of this cemetery during August 2005. There is a very large part of section "C1" which has few stones. According to the caretakers, this section was originally used as Potters Field. There are few stones but many burials in the section. When I checked on one burial which did have an old, nearly illegible stone, they were unable to find anything in the records to indicate who the individuals were. This large cemetery is active and beautifully maintained. The oldest burials are found in the easternmost sections with progressively newer burials in the western sections. The cemetery can be located by turning west on to Cemetery Road at the southern edge of Virden. It is located approximately 1 to 1.5 miles straight west of Virden and is situated on the north side of the road.
