Directions: Provided by: Jeanie Lowe.

From State Route 29, turn west, toward Petersburg, onto State Route 123. Continue on route 123 appriximately 2 miles to Lebanon Cemetery Rd. turn left (south) on the cemetery road and follow the narrow road for about 1 mile to the cemetery.

If you are starting in Petersburg, take Route 123 East for approximately 4 miles from the Sangamon River to Lebanon Cemetery Rd.

This is a beautiful cemetery in good condition. Many of the old stones have been broken, but it appears someone is in the process of repairing them.

The information listed below was transcribed from a book published by Eileen Gochanour, Wanda Allers, and Margaret Hohimer. Thanks to Eileen for giving us permission to make the information available on this web site.

Additional information was taken from: Tombstone inscriptions made by the late James Toal in 1982; Tombstone inscriptions made by DAR in 1978-79; Mott Funeral Home Records; Montgomery Funeral Home Records; From old obituaries and family genealogies in possession of Eileen Gochanour.

As these transcriptions were done by humans, they are subject to error. One should research the original documents/ read the headstones, to verify accuracy.

If a name appears in red, click on the name to bring up a photo of that individual's cemetery marker.
