Elizabeth Gordon in the year 1779. Elizabeth was born in the year 1749 at Cannonsberg, Washington County, Pennsylvania. She died March 15, 1835.
Children of John and Elizabeth White:
John: married Margaret Embry.
James: born October 9, 1777; married Hannah Spears.
Robert: born October 14, 1779; married Ester McNabb, 1806 Ky.
Nancy: married Jeremiah Nicholas.
Jane: married Mr. Spears.
Martha: born September 16, 1797; married Abraham Lanterman.
His grave was marked by Pierre Menard Chapter DAR, Petersburg, Illinois, September 1940.
His name appears on Bronze Marker, Sangamon County Court House, Springfield, Illinois; by Springfield Chapter DAR, dedicated October 19, 1911. He was a native of Pennsylvania, as he enlisted there in Captain William Fife's Company, 2nd Battalion Washington County Militia. He also enlisted January 28, 1782 and again June 22, 1782. He moved from Pennsylvania in 1790 to Green County, Ky. Then in 1819 he moved to Menard County, Illinois, and settled near the Village of Tallula.
