Virginia Jones, 69, of Scottville dies

FRANKLIN - Virginia M. Jones, 69, of Scottville, died Monday evening, July 6, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born May 24, 1918 south of Franklin, daughter of Galen and Ada Fairburn Seymour. She was twice married.

Surviving are her mother, Ada Seymour of Scottville; two daughters, Jennifer Link of LaHarpe and Sharon Wells of Franklin; two grandchildren, Mike Link and Cindy Wells; four sisters, Mary Ball of Murrayville, Irene Dowland and Betty Butler, both of Scottville, and Margurite Pearson of St. Charles, Mo.; one brother, Walter Seymour of Scottville.

Mrs. Jones was employed for 23 years as a technician at the Jacksonville Developmental Center, until her retirement in August of 1985. She was a member of the Scottville Christian Church.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Neece Funeral Home in Franklin, with interment at Bull Cemetery south of Franklin. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
