John Edmond Mieher

John Edmond Mieher, 41, of R.R. 3, Roodhouse, died of natural causes Sunday morning, Dec. 10, 1995, at Passavant Area Hospital.

He was born Dec. 21, 1953, in Jacksonville, a son of John P. and Ella Morris Mieher.

He is survived by his mother of Roodhouse; two aunts; one uncle; and many cousins. His father died Oct. 18, 1987.

Mr. Mieher spent most of his life on the family farm southeast of Roodhouse. He graduated from Roodhouse Elementary School and attended Western Military Academy in Alton for three years until it closed. He graduated from North Greene High School in 1972.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville. He became an Eagle Scout with Troop 145 at Roodhouse in 1970. He was a member of the Greene County Farm Bureau, Apple Creek Cycle Club, Blackhawk Cycle Club of Davenport, Iowa, and the American Motorcycle Association. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.

Mr. Mieher operated the home farm for several years and also operated his motorcycle work shop there.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse. Burial will be at the Bull Cemetery near Franklin. Visitation will be 4:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Bull Cemetery or to Salem Lutheran Church.
