Nita Wood, 98, of Waverly dies

Franklin - Nita Dyer Hart Wood, 98, of Waverly died Thursday evening, July 12, 1990, at Heritage Manor in Beardstown.

She was born June 28, 1892, near Athensville, daughter of John and Saray Dyer. She married Justus Hart on July 2, 1910. He died Dec. 3, 1952. She later married Presley Wood on Dec. 11, 1957. He died April 16, 1971.

Surviving are a great-granddaughter, Sue Friday of Bluff Springs; two granddaughters, Joan Hart McGill of Beardstown and Jeanne Hart Crum of Blue Springs, Mo.; six other great-greandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; a sister, Frances Bracewell of Murrayville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, William Wayne Hart and Randall Vincent Hart, and a sister.

Mrs. Wood was a member of New Hope Southern Baptist church south of Waverly.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Neece Funeral Home in Franklin with burial at Bull Cemetery south of franklin. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
