Mrs. Stella Hagan dies here Sunday; rites set Wednesday
Mrs. Stella Mae Hagan, formerly of 945 North Church St., died Sunday at Passavant Hospital. She was 84 years of age and had worked at J. Capps Sons, Ltd., for 27 years.
Mrs. Hagan was born near Manchester April 18, 1896, daughter of John T. and Alice Lemon Hayes. she married Joseph Hagan April 24, 1913. Three children survive: Mrs. Melvin (Irene) Pennell and Mrs. Claude (Thelma) Murray, both of Jacksonville and Mrs. George (Florecia) Walker of Jackson, Tenn. There are 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Two sisters and a brother survive: Mary Barber, Alton; Hazel Durham, Springfield; and Rev. Charles Hayes, of White Hall. Six brothers preceded in death.
The deceased was a member of Church of Our Saviour, C.D. of A., Legion of Mary and the local Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America Retirees.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday from Church of Our Saviour with interment to be in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call at Reavy Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Tuesday with the family receiving 7 to 9 p.m. with Prayer Service at 7 p.m.
