"Ira Bonds of Chapin Dies Early Wednesday"

James Ira Bonds, 79 year old lifetime resident of the Chapin community, died at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross hospital where he had been a patient for four weeks.

Mr. Bonds was born in Scott county Sept. 24, 1886, the son of James R. and Anna Stumborg Bonds. He was married in 1908 to Inez Magee. She survives with these children, James of Norwalk, Calif.,; Mrs. Idell Simmons, Chicago; Mrs. Luciel Hanks, Pittsfield and Mrs. Louella Taylor of Bluffs. There are five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Two brothers and two sisters survive, Henry of Racine, Wis,; John of Bluffs; Mrs. Hazel McGlasson, Winchester and Mrs. Della Anderson of Chapin. One brother and one sister preceded Mr. Bonds in death. [arrangements omitted]
