Edna Long, aged two years, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Truman Long on Monday, Sept. 9, 1929, at Clements, Ill. She had been very ill for three weeks and although everything possible was done to relieve the little sufferer, it was of no avail, and she has gone to join her little brother, who died just three years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Long have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.
NOTE: Father of the above two children was Oscar Truman Long who was born near Athensville, Ill., on Jan. 28,, 1884. He lived for many years at Valley City in Pike County, Ill. He died March 31, 1970 and is buried in Griggsville Cemetery. Mother of the above two children was Flossie Coffman Long, born in Kentucky. In 1977 she was the wife of William McDade and they lived in Valley City. In addition to the children buried in Davis Cemetery, Truman and Flossie became the parents of the following children, all of whom were living in 1977: Donald Dean Long, born March 13, 1931; Marylin Geane, April 13, 1934; Mary Jane, Nov. 29, 1939; Frank Johnson, Oct. 15, 1942; and Betty Ann, May 14, 1945. Donald Dean married Dorothy Jean Dalton.
