Henry Ulysses Arenz

Henry Ulysses Arenz, 93, of Jacksonville, died Monday morning, May 20, 2002, at Jacksonville convalescent Facility.
He was born July 13, 1908, at the family home southeast of Jacksonville, the son of William H. and Charlotte Verne Cooper Arenz. He married Edna Marie Busey Dec. 5, 1936, in Jacksonville, and she preceded him in death Feb. 15, 1983.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna M. (husband, Richard) Cody and Sarah L. Bourn, both of Jacksonville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma L. McGee.
Mr. Arenz was plant supervisor at Bound to Stay Bound Books Inc., retiring in 1973 after 49 years of service. He was a member of Brooklyn United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 570, and a longtime member of Jacksonville Moose Losge. He was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Brooklyn United Methodist Church, with burial in Diamond Grove Cemetery. The remains will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services. Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the Cody & Son Memorial Home, where the family will meet friends from 4-6 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Brooklyn Methodist Church.
