Lora M. Beamer

Lora M. Beamer, 85, of Jacksonville died at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday at Modern Care Convalescent Center.

She was born in Monticello, Ky., July 24, 1904, the daughter of James and Fronia Corder Vaughn. Her husband, Albert Beamer, preceded her in death in 1956.

Mrs. Beamer was a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Biggs of Jacksonville and Kathryn Herrin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two sons, Donald Beamer of Springfield and James Beamer of Peoria; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Laura Reed of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and two brothers, Arthur Vaughn of Valley Station, Ky. and Robert Vaughn of Monticello, Ky.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home, Jacksonville, with Rev. Leroy Hedrick officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Morgan County.
