Perry Lynn Sexton
1935 - 2000

Perry Lynn Sexton, 64, of Jacksonville, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at his residence.

He was born July 27, 1935, in Morgan County near Waverly, the son of Porter L. and Lula M. Roberts Sexton. He married Wanda E. Coates May 2, 1959, in Waverly and she survives.

He is also survived by a son, Dustin P. of Jacksonville; a sister, Shirley (husband, Clyde) Ashbaugh of Waverly; two brothers, John M. (wife, Norma) of Roodhouse, Dale F. (wife, Kay) of Waverly, two grandsons and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce (husband, Paul) Ryan and a brother and two sisters in infancy.

Mr. Sexton grew up in Waverly and graduated from Waverly High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. In 1958 he began working for Mobil Chemical, retiring in 1994. After retirement he sold and delivered feed for M & L Feed Mill. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Mr. Sexton will be remembered most for his devotion to his family and his love of horses.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Neece Funeral Home in Waverly with burial at Ebenezer Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will meet friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
