GRAVEL SPRINGS CEMETERY
Section 10, Twp. 15N, Range 11W
This burial site was badly damaged during construction of a pond in 1971.
One upright tombstone under two oak trees can be seen from Illinois Rte. 104,
which is a few yards north of this burial site. Several tombstones
disappeared during construction of the pond and of the three remaining, one
is in excellent condition, one is broken into two parts and one is badly smashed
but still legible. The city of Jacksonville can be seen from this cemetery.
