Waverly: On Friday night, Reuben Dennis, Sr., whose serious illness we spoke of last week, breathed his last. He was born in February, 1800 and was consequently 83 years old. He had many relatives in this neighborhood, though his brothers and sisters have long since passed away. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. K. Miller, at the residence, Sunday morning at nine o'clock and the remains interred at the Jones Cemetery, six miles west of here. W. H. McCullough and wife, of Jacksonville were present, the deceased being Mrs. McCullough's father. A number of sons and daughters of the deceased reside here or in this vicinity.
