"Deatherage, Mrs. Fanny, died at the residence of the late P C Arnett, her son-in-law, in Waverly IL., on 11 June 1875 aged 77 years being born in Stokes Co North Carolina in 1798. On 2 Jan 1813 she was given in marriage to James Deatherage, who preceded her nine months to the spirit land. two years following her marriage she removed to Russelville KY, thence to Robertson Co TN in 1817 and in the winter of 1828 she came to MorgaCo IL where she remained till called hence. (long eulogy I omitted here) She leaves but 3 known surviving children to mourn her loss William Deatherage, Mrs G H Dennis and Mrs. P C Arnett, the latter of whom was less than a week before bereft of a devoted husband".
