Rev. Ed Curry Dead
Rev. J. E. Curry, of Waverly, well known in this community, died suddenly at Winchester Tuesday afternoon. He was there attending sessions of the Baptist Association and had just participated in a discussion when he was seized with an acute attack of dilitation of the heart and passed away in a few minutes.
He was born in Indiana about 70 years ago, came to Illinois at the age of 19 and here married Miss Cora Camm and their home was on a farm in the Pisgah neighborhood until about 14 years ago when they moved to Waverly.
His wife survives with one daughter, Mrs. Robert Gorman, of Jacksonville, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Baptist church in Waverly Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment will be in Union cemetery.
A surviving sister in California, whom Rev. Curry visited the past summer after not seeing her for fifty years, is expected Saturday to attend the funeral.
