John Britenstine passed away Wednesday morning at 5 o'clock at his home in Nortonville, aged 66 years, 5 months and 6 days. Mr. Britenstine was born in Morgan County, and Oct. 26, 1876, was married to Miss Sarah E. Henry, who survives him, together with Willis Britenstine, a son and Mrs. E. S. Sheppard, of Nortonville, a daughter. Nellie, the wife of James Rochester, preceded the father in death. Mr. Britenstine leaves also two brothers, Joseph and Frederick Britenstine, both of Nortonville, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Hopper, Nortonville, and Mrs. Nancy Rynders, of Waverly.

Mr. Britenstine was a member of Youngblood Baptist church and of the I.O.O.F. lodge. He was a man who stood high in the respect of his home community and great grief will be brought to the hearts of many by the news of his passing.

Funeral services will be held in Youngblood Baptist church this forenoon at 11 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. Roy March. Burial will be made in Youngblood cemetery with Odd Fellows in charge of the service at the grave.
