ZELDA CLAUSSEN DIES; FUNERAL HELD SATURDAY
Mrs. Zelda I. Claussen, 74, of the Nortonville area died last Thursday morning at 12:58 at Passavant hospital where she had been a patient since August 19. The body was brought to the Neece Funeral Home here.
She was born October 18, 1894 in Nortonville, daughter of Thomas and Alice Tribble Henry. In October 1910 she married Gideon Claussen who preceded her in death.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Wilma Miskell and Mrs. Bonnie Gadert, both of Springfield, Mrs. Cora Smock of Manchester, and Mrs. Ilene Ryan of Waverly; and a son, Gideon, Jr. of near Nortonville. There are 23 grandchildren; also 14 great-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at the Youngblood Baptist church at Nortonville with Rev. Kenneth Anders officiating. The church choir sang Whispering Hope; also Ivory Palaces. Mrs. Brenda Chaudoin was the accompanist.
Grandsons and granddaughters, respectively, were pallbearers and flower girls. Interment was in the church cemetery.
