MRS. CLARENCE NEAL DIES; FUNERAL TO BE SUNDAY
Mrs. Bessie Neal, wife of Clarence Neal, passed away at 6:30 this morning (Jan. 23, 1969) at Passavant hospital where she had been a patient since Dec. 27th.
She was born in Monticello, Kentucky, Jan. 4, 1897, daughter of Portor and Rosa Patton Bertram. She and Mr. Neal were married April 16, 1922, and moved here 42 years ago.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Thomas of Colorado; Richard of Waverly, Ill., and Junior at home; and four daughters, Mrs. Rose Morris of Peoria, Mrs. Jean Stewart of Franklin, Mrs. Lillian Witherbee and Mrs. Noreen Eichhorn both of Peoria. One brother survives, Crume Bertram of Indianapolis. There are 21 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one step-granddaughter.
The deceased was a member of the Franklin Baptist church.
The remains were brought to the Neece Funeral Home, Franklin, where the family will meet friends Saturday evening.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Youngblood Baptist Church at Nortonville, Rev. Kenneth Day officiating, and interment will be in the church cemetery.
