Clarence Neal, 79, Franklin, died Monday morning, July 20, at Jacksonville Convalescent Center.

Mr. Neal was born in Monticello, Kentucky, October 16, 1901. He was the son of Sherd and Lilly Griffit Neal. He married Bessie Bertram in 1922 and she died in 1969.

Survivors include four daughters: Mrs. Rose Marris, Joliet; Mrs. Jean Stewart and Mrs. Lillian Witherbee, both of Franklin; and Mrs. Norene VanDeeVeer, East Peoria; three sons: Thomas, Jacksonville; Richard, Waverly; and Junior, Franklin: two sisters, Mrs. Violet Brummett and Mrs. Pearl Curtis, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Services were at the Youngblood Baptist Church in Nortonville. Burial was in the church cemetery.
