Clarice L. Wells, 86, of Nortonville, died Saturday morning, Dec. 18, 1999, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born Oct. 23, 1913, in Hillview, the daughter of Edgar and Frances Dyer Killebrew. She married Lowell Wells on Sept/ 28, 1933, in Jacksonville, and he survives in Nortonville.
She is also survived by four daughters, Judy Skinker of Florissant, Mo., Mary Kramer of Schaumburg, Sarah Shirmang of Omaha, Neb. And Debbie Nobis of St. Louis, Mo.; three sons, Jim of Jacksonville, Richard of Fort Worth, Texas and Bill of Pukalani, Hawaii; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Fern Clayton of Winchester, Lelia Raifard of Georgetown, Texas and Florence Blimling of Roodhouse. She was preceded in death by one sister, Nellie Ambler; and two brothers, Edgar and Albert Killebrew.
Mrs. Wells was a member of the Durbin United Methodist church near Franklin and the Nortonville women's Club in Nortonville. She managed the Goodwill Thrift Store in Jacksonville for six years.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Durbin United Methodist church with burial at Youngblood Cemetery in Nortonville. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at the Mackey-Daws Funeral Home in Murrayville with the family meeting friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Murrayville EMS or Durbin United Methodist church.
