Joseph (Joe) White, 72, farmer in the Scottville area, died early Sunday morning at Holy Cross Hospital in Jacksonville where he had been a patient since October 3.

He was born in Scottville August 3, 1892, son of Hiram and Carolina Woolsey White. He married Opal McCann on February 16, 1928.

She survives with the following children: Vernon of Long Beach, Calif.; James of Waverly; Leonard of Palmyra; Josephine Barksdale of Kena, Alaska; Mrs. Catherine Powell of Springfield; Mrs. Irene Wood of Jacksonville; Mrs. Carolina Curl of Pleasant Plains; Mrs. Rosella Stewart of Palmyra; and Donna Kay, Albert, Hal, Vernon, Marshall, Larry and Allen at home. There are 27 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Two brothers survive, Chas. And Amos, both of Waverly.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Neece Funeral Home here with Rev. Eugene Owsley officiating. Burial was in Youngblood Cemetery.
