"Tom" Williams, 55, of city dies

Thomas H. "Tom" Williams, 55, of 371 Pine St., died Wednesday evening, March 18, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 20, 1931 in Murrayville, the son of Henry J. and Ethel Johnson Williams.

He married Doris Bridges Dec. 19, 1953, and she survives along with his mother, Ethel of Jacksonville; one son, Paul Williams of Jacksonville, two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Robyn) Hagerman and Mrs. Jack (Kelly) Harney, both of Jacksonville; three grandchildren; one brother, Charles Williams of Springfield; one sister, Mrs. Vernon (Dorothy) Medlock of Jacksonville.

He was a retired baker employed by Lucky Boy and Purity, and was a long time employee of the Journal Courier. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Calvary Baptist church.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home with burial at Youngblood Cemetery in Nortonville. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will meet friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Calvary Baptist Church.
