"Elizabeth" Witherbee

Sarah "Elizabeth" Witherbee, 83, of Nortonville died Saturday evening, Feb. 20, 1993, at Passavant Area Hospital.

She was born Nov. 9, 1909 in Muddy, near Waverly, the only daughter of William and Lena Wood Witherbee.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Witherbee of Nortonville and Norman Witherbee of Newberg, Ore.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Clarence, Lawrence, Harlan and Kessler Witherbee, and a daughter, Alma Irene.

Mrs. Witherbee lived in Nortonville for many years and worked at Nortonville Grade School and Franklin High School for 25 years before retiring in 1971. She was active in Youngblood Baptist church and the Nortonville Community Club.

Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Youngblood Cemetery in Nortonville. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Youngblood Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Youngblood Baptist church. Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly is in charge of arrangements.
