The ones above were whole companies that were mostly Morgan men. Morgan Co contributed many men to the Civil War effort. While most were in the 101st Infantry Regiment, there were Morgan Co men in other units as well. The Adjutant Generals Report of the 101st Inf gives the history of the unit from muster in, on the 2nd of September 1862, to the "Grand Review" and the disbandment in June of 1865. An index of Morgan Co men known to have served in various units can be found on Norm Witherbee's Civil War page Morgan County (and other Illinois) soldiers. There is also a listing of the Soldiers on the Civil War Monument in Jacksonville.
