"ONE OF CITY'S HISTORIC HOMES--
Among the historic Springfield Homes torn down in recent years was the Dickerman home on Fourth and Scarritt streets. The home was razed in 1943. It was built in 1871 by H. S. Dickerman, one of the owners of the old Springfield Woolen Mill and a founder of the First Congregational Church.
