Venette F. Watkins
Mrs. Venette Fern Wake Watkins, 66, of Mechanicsburg died at 9:16 A.M. Sunday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Joyce Bennett.
Born on March 9, 1920 in Springfield, Mrs. Watkins was the daughter of John T. and Carmel E. Wake. She was a member of the Landmark Baptist Church in Stonington. A resident of Mechanicsburg for 35 years, Mrs. Watkins retired in 1986 from the State of Illinois.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Ray Watkins in 1979 and one brother, John Wake in 1940.
Surviving are three sons, Larry and Lyle of Mechanicsburg, and LeRoy of Buffalo; three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Joyce) Bennett and Mrs. Donald (Jacquelyn) Kirby of Buffalo and Mrs. John (Janice) Lowery of R.R. 2 of Dawson. Two sisters, Wilda J. Wake and Mrs. Pauline Warner of Springfield, one brother, LaVerne Wake of Annapolis, MO; 17 grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Bisch Memorial Home. Burial will be in Old Berlin Cemetery.
Fullenwider Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
