John E. Coons married Clarissa McLaughlin in 1856 in Sangamon Co., Illinois.
Clarissa was the daughter of David McLaughlin who was born in 1801 in Kentucky. John & Clarissa's daughter, Sarah, married Charles L. Wilcox. She died in 1890 and Charles remarried to Emma Frances Summers. Apparently Charles Wilcox died some time before 1910. Emma Frances/Frances Emma/Emily was a daughter of Moses Summers. This information provided by a descendant of Mary Ellen Summers (another daughter of Moses Summers) who married Preston H. Gibson. |
