It was reported many years ago that a tombstone was found in a yard in Illiopolis that had the following inscription:
DERRY, Ann B., age 72y6m27d, wife of M. Derry, died 8 July 1873
Ann is the possible mother of Amos and Michael Derry, grandmother of Arabella W. Derry.
In 1860 Sangamon Census an Ann B. Derry, age 59 born MD is listed P. O. Springfield. Also A. C. & Kate Derry and family are listed at P. O. Springfield. M. H. & Harriet are listed P. O. Mechanicsburg.
