The Oyster Supper at the Christian church Saturday evening was a success as suppers here always are. The entertainment for the evening being a Demorest Medal contest was good and showed that the young ladies had spent time in preparing the selections so well. They made a fine appearance before the large audience, not withstanding it was with the most of them their first appearance in public. Those speaking were:

The large audience seemed to fully agree with the judges’ decision which was for Miss Mae Hurst first and Miss Barrow second.
Talks were also made by Rev. Easterling and Harnley.Christian Endeavor People of Cantrall Enjoy a Novelty at O. P. Canterbury’s Home.
The Christian Endeavor of Cantrall held a height sociable at the residence of O. P. Canterbury Tuesday evening. One of the most interesting features of the program was the measuring of the guests, each person being charged 4 cents per foot. A musical and literary entertainment was given, after which refreshments were served. About seventy-five persons were present, among whom were the following from Athens:
