DR. WASHINGTON STARRETT was born near Zanesville, O., February 9, 1807. Studied medicine with Dr. W. BEACH during the years 1829, '30, and '31. Graduated at the New York Reformed Medical College in 1831, and commenced practice in Delaware county, Ohio, in 1832, where he continued three years. Spent the year 1835 in the South-Mississippi and Louisiana. Came to Carrolton in January, 1836, and was married to Miss SUSAN E. GATES on the 2d of October of the same year. After marriage, settled in Fulton county, Ill. Moved to Winchester, Ill., in the fall of 1840, where he has been engaged in the practice of medicine up to the present date. He has three children, two living-a daughter married to Mr. JAMES R. KEATING, now a resident of Litchfield, Ill., and a son in the Freshman Class at Amherst College, Mass. The Doctor and his wife are both members of the Baptist Church.
