This son of John and Ann (Coultas) Andell, was born on a farm in Scott county, Illinois, January 6, 1865. His years have been spent on a farm; his education was received at the country school, and he is now a farmer, owning a good small farm four miles northeast of Winchester. (The dates concerning his father and mother will be found in the sketch of James Andell, elsewhere in this book.)

In December, 1889, he was married to Miss Ollie Tolbert. She was born in Scott county in 1871. They are the parents of two children - Johnny Leo and Mildred Edna.

As a citizen of Scott county he is honored and respected and as a farmer he has been successful. Mr. Andell is a straightforward, honorable gentleman, deserving the friends and friendships he possesses.
