ORNSBY DAWSON.

Mr. Dawson is a native of Winchester, the son of Jesse and Ann Dawson; and was born March 20, 1863. He was a bright boy and was educated in the Winchester public schools. October 26, 1881, he was married to Miss Emma Kastrup, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Kastrup, former residents of Scott county, but now living at Jacksonville. To them were born three children: Mildred Edna, Gertrude and Royal. Marriage and death seem to have come close together in the life of Mr. Dawson, for on April 18, 1882, following his marriage the preceding October, came the death of his mother.

For a number of years Mr. Dawson has followed farming and stock raising, and at that he has been successful. He has never taken a very active interest in political affairs, but has served his school district as director. He owns a nice country home and there lives the life of a good, honest farmer.
