In the year 1855, on August 7, at Great Hucklow, Derbyshire, England. William Frost was born. He is a son of the late William Frost and wife, and when he was about nine years old he came with them to Scott county, Illinois. For the first year the family lived in Winchester, and then moved to a farm about six miles east of the city where Mr. Frost now lives. The lad worked on the farm, attended the district school, and had the identical things to contend with which have proven stumbling blocks along the path of countless thousands who have preceded him.
In 1901, April 3, Mr. Frost was married to Mrs. Louella Ingle and to them one daughter, Helen May, has been born. Louella Ingle Frost is the daughter of William and Elizabeth A. Watts, and was born about three miles south of Glasgow, Scott county, Illinois, July 17, 1869. Her parents moved from Scott to Morgan county, and lived near Woodson, where, in 1895, she was married to J. W. Ingle and moved to Tennessee. Here she remained until Mr. Ingle's death in 1897, when she returned to Illinois.
Mr. Frost's father, William Frost, Sr., died May 31, 1876, and his mother, Ann Frost, died December 19, 1875. They are both buried in the Winchester cemetery.
William Frost is a practical farmer, one who derives results from his labor. He has given of his time and substance to assist whatever has been for the substantial improvement or material benefit of the community. He has been progressive and is an honored citizen of the county.
