JOHN W. JEFFERSON

One of the progressive young farmers of the county is John W. Jefferson. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Jefferson and was born in Morgan county, Illinois, February 16, 1860. His parents removed to Scott county when he was a boy and he has made his home here ever since. In 1895 he was married to Mary E. Rogers at Griggsville, Pike county. To them have been born three children: William R., Thomas A., and Annie V. At present Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson are residing on a farm belonging to William Jefferson, about four miles east and north of Winchester.
