The Neponset Historical Society was founded in March of 1982.

The goal of the society is to preserve the history of Neponset .
The Mock House Museum was given to the historical society in Oct of 1992.
The house was the home of Neponset`s first agent for the CB&Q railroad.
The home has been remodeled several times over the past years and now contains many of the society`s artifacts from Neponset`s past history, which started in 1855.
