MRS. E. J. CANFIELD, PINE ROCK RESIDENT IS CALLED FROM LIFE
Mrs. Emma Julia Hull Canfield, daughter of Isaac N. and Julia Haynes Hull who pioneered, coming from New York in 1853, was born in Pine Rock Township near Chana, Jun 16, 1860. She was united in marriage to George E. Canfield Jan 28, 1882.
They resided on their farm southwest of Chana where their children who survive were born. Mr. Canfield died in 1907 and she moved to her Chana home in 1921. Two sisters, Mrs. Esther Nancy Canfield and Mrs. Ida Young predeceased her. She is survived by her twin brother, the Rev. Emory Richard Hull of Iowa and five children, Oliver Hull Canfield, Chana: George Lawrence Canfield, Oregon,IL; Earl Clifton Canfield, Emma J. Butler and Alice A. Gray of Chana; 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Canfield was a lifelong member of the Chana Methodist Church and its societies and was a subscriber for more than 30 years to the Christian Advocate.
Funeral services will be held at the Chana Methodist Church Friday afternoon, at two 0'clock, the Rev. F.W. Shreve officiating and burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery southwest of Chana.

DEATH, TUESDAY NIGHT OF LIFELONG OGLE RESIDENT
Mrs. Emma Julia Hull Canfield, lifelong resident of Pine Rock Township, died Tuesday night, April 6, at her home in Chana. The daughter of Isaac and Julia Haynes Hull, pioneer settlers of the township, she was born June 16, 1860. She married George E. Canfield, Jan. 8, 1882. They engaged in farming, in which vocation he continued until his death in 1907. She had made her residence in Chana since 1921.
Surviving her passing are three sons, Oliver and Earl of Chana and George of Oregon, IL; two daughters, Mrs. Emma Butler and Mrs. Alice Gray, of Chana and a twin brother, Rev. Emory R. Hull, living in Iowa; eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. The funeral services were held Friday afternoon, at the Chana Methodist Church, Rev. F.W. Shreve, officiating. Burial in Chapel Hill, southwest of Chana.
