Michael Keegan, a well known and respected citizen of this city for nearly a half century, died at his home on Thursday, February 23rd of pneumonia, having reached the ripe old age of 80 years.

Michael Keegan was born in County Westmeath, Ireland on March 15, 1841. In 1849 he left with the family for Scotland, where he resided until coming to America in 1865. B. and Q. Ry. He moved from Steward to Waterman, Illinois, where he remained for six years, and they moved to Rochelle, where he has since resided. Mrs. Keegan preceded him in death about six years ago.

Of the family of nine children, six survive him, P. H. Keegan, of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. John J. Doner, of DeKalb; Mrs. Mary Unger, Mrs. Jennie Gleason, Hugh E. and Thos. M. Keegan of Rochelle.
Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Church Friday morning.
