Mr. Norton, whose death was spoken of in last weeks Express, was born June 13, 1813. He came from Rockford to Byron in June 1835, and has ever since been an honored resident of this town. He was one of the early settlers at at the time of his death lived on the claim he originally settled. He had been in poor health for two years, previous to his death. He had three brothers: Hamilton Norton, who was the post master at Polo for 15 years; G. G. Norton, now of Freeport, and Isaac Norton, who died in 1863.
One more Old Settlers name at the coming reunion will be inscribed on the death roll.
